Reasons to Quit Smoking

Cigarette smoking is the leading cause of premature death in the United States. Currently smoking deaths account for more than 440,000 of the 2.4 million annual deaths. Not only that but smokers have a higher than normal risk of developing many chronic disorders. These disorders include many types of cancer and pulminary disease problems such as COPD (chronic obstructive pulminary disease), and fatty buildups in arteries. This buildup in the arteries is called Atherosclerosis and is a chief contributor to the high number of deaths from smoking. There are many studies that evidence in detail that smoking is a major cause of heart disease, which leads to heart attack.
